Shihan John Cantor 15th Dan, MAsian Studies, BA, Dip TESOL, Ass, Dip Adult Education, instructs with more than 20 years experience in the Bujinkan. He lived thirteen years in Japan studying with the Grandmaster and the Shihan. John's journey to study martial art began after a successful national and international rowing career. His introduction to budo began with Shotokan karate in 1985. In 1986 he started Bujinkan training. In 1990 he travelled to Japan to study Japanese language, culture and train. In 1991, Hatsumi Sensei ranked John 3rd dan and he started the first foreigner's dojo in Osaka - The Bujinkan Kokusai - International - Kansai Dojo. Later that year Nicholas Lynn from Australia linked with John and together they co-directed training. During the time John trained in Japan he studied with many shihan, and established relations with students and dojochos - instructors - around the world. He fully supports efforts to transmit the feeling and technique of the Bujinkan tradition and encourages peers and practitioners to exercise the core value of the art... "To Keep Going". Contact Shihan Nicholas Lynn Nicholas’ experience includes 11 years in Japan where he worked as a chemical engineer. He is fluent in the Japanese language. During his time in Japan, Nicholas broadened his experience in the japanese warrior arts and maintains an interest in chinese acupuncture. Since returning to Sydney both instructors have co-founded the Hunters Hill Dojo. They've also returned to Japan to train with Hatsumi-Soke and Bujinkan Shihans - Nagato-, Noguchi- and Nagase-Sensei.
